Juniors – Chris wins the tyre strategy

Big talking point of the day was tyre strategy. Two sets of tyres for each driver at the start of the weekend, one of those for qualifying and the heats. The second set could be used on Sunday at anytime, so you Pre-Final could run on an old set, saving the new tyres for the final or vice versa. Pre-Final: Chris finished 5th, wisely saving a new set of tyres for the final.

As the final got underway Chris quickly took advantage of his new tyres to shoot up to the lead in just over two laps. The new tyres were clearly working for Chris as he was clearing off in the distance. Despite Meyer’s efforts he could not get closer then four tenths of a second to Chris, settling for 2nd with the British driver taking victory.
